Springmaid Splash Sponsored by Don Smith Subaru Spruce Pine Chevrolet Switzerland Cafe Tree House Real Estate The 10K Race

Note: Chip timing will be utilized.

Please Note:
The race will be run rain or shine. There will be an alternate course if the river is deemed impassable by emergency management officials.

This run is tough, wet, and wild. YOU WILL GET WET! You will run along flat fields next to the river, and through the river four times. Paths wind through mountain laurel, challenging HILLS, numerous switchbacks, singletracks, soft sand, alongside ponds, over roots and rocky spots. The entire loop is "run-able," but is totally acceptable to walk parts of the course. It is a great SUMMER COOL DOWN! Spectators can easily view various sections of the race and are encouraged to beat the first river crossing

RunnersWhat They Said...

Here is some of what participants said:

Q: Was this the hardest 10K I’ve ever run?

A: YES!...but by far, the most fun I've had during a race.

Q: Will I run it again?

A: YOU BET!...The river was fun, the hills horrendous, the volunteers and refreshments awesome…The best part of it was that the proceeds
went to a great cause.”

- Anne Riddle Lundblad, World Class Mother and Ultrarunner.
Silver Medalist, World Cup 100K. 2005 Springmaid Champion.

“…the toughest 10k I’ve ever been in … but by far, the most fun I’ve had during a race…It was an exciting race, with some really talented runners… I’ll be back next year.”

- Will Harlan, 2005 Springmaid Overall winner

“That was the most fun I’ve had in a run in a long time!!”

– Laurie, Asheville
